The Competition Commission carried out an 18 month review into the retailers and found that too many people do not have a variety of supermarkets near them to choose between.
It's report also suggests that some aspects of the retailers' power should be reined in, such as 'land banking'. Critics claim that supermarkets buy up land to prevent competitors from gaining a foothold.
