How important is the poppy appeal today?
The Royal British Legion is using the launch of this year's poppy appeal to call for more support for injured troops and bereaved families.
With continuing British military commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan, the charity says its work is more vital than ever.
It is helping a new generation of young veterans, and in the past year alone the number of personnel under the age of thirty five asking for its help has increased by a third.
