New figures showing a decline in the rates of C-difficile and MRSA have been released by the Health Protection Agency. Are hospitals cleaning up their act?
The Health Protection Agency has said that there has been a decline in the numbers of hospital infections in England.
MRSA infections up to March this year were 10% lower than the previous year, and for the first time C-difficile infections fell by 7% compared to the same time last year.
But some experts have warned that the figures may not be completely accurate as the way data is collected has been changed.
Have you or a member of your family had one of these infections? Are you happy with the cleanliness of your local hospital? Can any more be done to deal with hospital acquired infections?
